Posted a few pictures of the 20oz filet they have, Pittsburgh charred, rare. This place never disappoints. The atmosphere is fantastic and easy going. Just an all around great experience and amazing food. I recommend the filet :)

Great atmosphere! Waiter was outstanding! Drinks were very good. They went above and beyond for my dads 85th Bday. Toasted Ravioli were ok for an appetizer. Salads were very good and the Mayfair dressing was awesome. Strip steak was cooked perfect. End cut of prime rib was delicious. Asparagus was cooked perfectly. The reason I gave it a 4 is because my MR filet was cooked MW. My sisters tenderloin medallions were also supposed to be MR and were MW. The Bearnaise sauce was actually Hollandaise sauce for both steaks. I would definitely go again though

My husband and I were celebrating our 30th year together and 21st wedding anniversary so I thought we'd splurge a little (a lot). I googled "best steak in St. Louis" and Kreis was on the list so I thought we'd give them a try. It was between them and Stoney River steakhouse. Kreis was closer, didn't wanna drive to Chesterfield so they won! Well actually, WE WON! The food and the service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter Victor was awesome! Very attentive, very friendly, very knowledgeable. He tended to our every need and was not overbearing. Ok, so first we started off with appetizers, soup & salad. I had the Maryland Jumbo Lump Crabcake w/ remoulade sauce and it was delicious! I also had the iceberg wedge salad that was yummy as well. Hubby started off with the soup of the day which was a wild mushroom soup and it was to die for! Now for the entrees. I had the Icelandic Cod lightly breaded (fried) with asparagus. Let me tell you, they make sure that you get full because those cod pieces were HUGE and the taste was perfect, very light and not greasy. The fish could've used a little bit of seasoning, but it was still good. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and they give you a nice portion as well. Hubby was a bit on the hungry side, so he ordered two entrees. King crab legs with asparagus and New York strip with a gigantic baked potato. I've never been to a place that pre-cracks your crab legs, we felt special! It was awesome because they do all the work for you and you get every single drop of meat. They give you huge portions so they make sure that you get your money's worth. He let me taste his steak and it literally melted in my mouth. We were too full to order dessert, maybe next time. Do yourself a favor, EAT HERE!!!

Love this place; never had a bad meal. It's my Dad's favorite, so we go here every time I am in town visiting. The service is fantastic--like restaurants used to be. (Victor is my favorite waiter, but you can't really go wrong with anyone.) We usually get the filet mignon, which melts like butter in your mouth. I've never had a bad side, salad, or dessert either. Worth saving room for. It's summer, so tonight I couldn't pass up the Heirloom Tomato salad. My God--so amazing. Basically a Caprese but taken up a serious notch. Get it while you still can. Big enough for 2--consider sharing. And the crab cake appetizer is yummy as well, and just the right portion.

The bartender named "Mike" was rude, slow, and totally unprofessional. He should not work at a "high end" restaurant, even if it is in Missouri. The host was also surly. Steak (ribeye) was decent - cooked perfectly but not a great cut of meat. "Crispy" steak fries were soggy. Crab cake appetizer was outstanding.
